Time flies when you are having fun!

2 Months

It is hard to believe that our little girls are already two months old, but in some ways it seems they have been apart of our family forever! They are growing so fast and I can't wait to see them at each stage. Drew and I have discussed how are lives have changed and we have to admit that it is not near as hard as we thought it would be to have a two year old and two babies. We even manage to go out and do things. We are truly blessed by our two baby girls. People ask me how we do it or isn't it hard to have twins (especially when they find out we have a 2 year old). I am not saying I don't loose my patience with Grayson sometimes, or long for a few minutes for a nap, but over all it is good. Drew and I made the choice when we found out it was two to believe that God chose us for this special task and that it won't be that much harder. So when people ask me how we do it, it's all about the attitude. And when people say I am amazing for taking all three out alone, I am not amazing just a mom with her three kids living day to day life. I also have an amazing husband that not only works hard so I can stay home with our children (not that we could afford childcare anyways), but he does more than his fare share around the house! Whether it be feeding late at night and early in the morning, picking up the house, helping with laundry, or just holding a fussy baby so I can take a relaxing bath! Not to say we do it all on our own. My parent's have been a HUGE help in going to eat, or babysitting to let us eat. So it really does take a village.

I thought since they were two months old I would tell you some individual things about them.

ELIZABETH GRACE
She started out at 5lbs and 2 oz and is now 10 LBS! (hard to believe that she was around 4.10 when she came home from Shreveport)
In the hospital she was so laid back and content and now she is the one that demands more. She loves to be held facing you so she can see you and she sometimes only wants her mom to hold her.
She is defiantly filling out in the face so she sometimes looks just like her sister(especially in pictures). Lizzie likes her bouncy seat and likes to be touching her sister when she sleeps. I think she is going to have lots of facial expressions like her big brother and I think her eyes just smile at you.

Olivia Faith
She started out at 5lbs 10 oz and is now 9LBS 15 OZ (just one ounce shy of her big sister)
She had a harder time starting out, but has made up for it now. In the hospital the nurses called her little Diva, but since the first time she could actually be held she has been laid back. You can usually lay her anywhere and she is happy. She likes you to hold her facing you, but she wants to put weight on her legs and just stare. She is amazed by her jungle swing and will stay in it for long periods of time if we let her. She is having a harder time with allergies and goopy eyes, but it does not seem to bother her. She usually only cries if she is hungry or in pain. Olivia looks just like my baby picture and has skin like me and my grandmother.

When the girls were first born I thought they could be identical because they were looking more and more alike, but now I think they look totally different, but I know it is because I look at them all day every day. Both girls are holding their heads up well and starting to pull their upper torso up in their car seats and when you are holding them. They love to be next to each other and always touch when they can. They also can roll from their stomach to their back and scoot all around their bed. I don't know if they use each other to do this or if it is because they spent so much time on their stomachs in the hospital.

I know this post is about the girls, but I can't not tell about Grayson. Grayson has amazed me over and over in the last two months. He does not seem to have any jealousy towards his sisters and loves to give kisses and hugs and will sing to them when they cry. He helps mommy wash, make and put bottles in the fridge. And likes to help with bath time. He now says things that are pink are very cute or pretty. His language has started to take off as well. I now turn the radio off in the car and we will have a conversation as we go down the road. He now likes to talk on the phone, not just listen, but will talk back when asked questions. So overall I think he is well adjusted.

When the girls cry Grayson will sing many of his songs, but they will almost always stop crying when he sings "you are my sunshine" This is ironic because when he would cry in the car as a baby I would play his cd with the same song on it.

Dr Update
Our Dr said both girls look great. Their head circumference was the same (Olivia's just looks so much bigger) And they were so close in weight (I was sure there would be almost a pound difference, I guess Lizzie just carries it better). Olivia's lungs are clear so more than likely just allergies, and the best new is he could hear NO heart murmur. So that is an answer to many prayers. He said Lizzie looked good as well. They seem to be gaining weight really well and they will now be on a all formula diet! (Let's just hope we can find some generic formula so we don't go broke). He said as long as everything goes well then they will start juices and cereal in two months. They did receive one oral vaccine and three vaccines in their leg so they are a little sore and a little fussy tonight.

On another note my mom and I took Grayson to see my Nana in Marshall today, she will be having a high risk surgery tomorrow late morning so if you could please say a little prayer for her and her doctors.

I know this has been a very long post (it took me a few days to do it and probably the longest I have ever done) so here are lots of pictures and a video to make it worth your while :)

You seriously have some sweet kiddos! I think Grayson has such a sweet spirit. I am glad everything is working out with him adjusting to the twins. I know you guys are great parents and have a part in all of that and I commend you! Glad that girls are great too! I look forward to getting to know them more.
