The girls are now 6 months old and I can not believe it! It seems like just last month we were bringing them home. I have been thinking about those 2 weeks a lot lately, mainly because our computer scrolls through the pictures from then. I don't remember the bad or the fear and I know that at the time I felt a huge calming and I know it was only from every ones prayers on our behalf. I look at my beautiful, healthy, happy girls (and son) and can only think about how blessed my family truly is! My mom and I were walking through Wal-mart this week and we saw the preemie clothes and we talked about how not that long ago we were buying preemie for the girls and they were to small to fit in those! In some ways it seems like years ago when we went through everything. As we celebrated our 6 year anniversary earlier this month we talked a lot about how we never could have imagined we would have 3 kids by now, and although I could not have dreamed or imagined it, I would not change one second of it. Even the scary beginning because I think it helped us realize the precious gifts we were trusted with!
SO enough reminiscing. Some have asked how many diapers, formula, etc do we go through so although I do not keep count here is a rough estimate.
They eat 4 jars of baby food a day right now so that is 124 jars a month
Plus 4 boxes of cereal a month
Diapers we use about 12 total a day which equals roughly 372 diapers a month
Here is the big one that will blow your mind (maybe not, it did mine once I actually calculated all this, ignorance truly is bliss)
The girls eat about 34 oz of formula a day each so that is 2,108 ounces of formula in one month
I had to have Drew check my math for this because I did not believe it myself! We won't even touch what this equals money wise because I don't need to know!
6 month update
We don't go to the doctor for a couple of weeks so I don't have their weights, but judging by the above I can only imagine how much they gained.
Olivia Faith
She finally had a tooth come through
She figured out how to roll her tongue (it has always been to big for her mouth) which she learned made a new sound when she babbles so she now does this all day! It is really cute except if you are in church or a quiet restaurant.
She rolls around like crazy and can move all over the floor if she wants. She is starting to push up on her hands and get up on her knees. We are not encouraging becoming mobile in anyway, but I don't think she is far away. She can also roll both ways now
She smiles so easily these days and truly is a happy and laid back child!
Elizabeth Grace
She is working so hard on getting a tooth
She too rolls over quite often, but seems to stay where I put her(has not quite mastered rolling back onto her back
She still loves Grayson and just lights up when she sees him. They already have such a special bond.
She loves her exercise saucer, mainly because she can stand up not holding on to anything. She will be walking in no time I am sure.
She does not like eating her "big girl" food as well, but has come so far this month
She is a little harder to get a smile from these days, but when you do it is so great.
They have put themselves on a schedule: They wake up between 8 and 9 and will play up to an hour sometimes before demanding to eat. They then take about an hour nap, play some more, eat baby food and bottle, play and then take between a 2 and 3 hour afternoon nap. They cat nap some at other times during the day, but most of the time they are always asleep at the same time. They eat cereal and a bottle and are ready for bed between 9 and 10.
I do have a confession I think the girls are looking a lot more alike in some ways, from across the room I have a hard time figuring out which one is which, especially now that the scoot around and are not where I left them. In the sun Olivia's hair is about the same as Lizzie so that makes for some confusion when I just glance, but when I really look or pick one up I know who I am holding. We are thinking now that they are probably fraternal.
The girls are loving their saucers and are spending lots of time happy in them
They are also learning how to scoot and roll where they want to go
Grayson and Elizabeth playing together. He even shared his Ernie with her
Lizzie's six month picture
They are so big they can't fit in the chair together anymore
Olivia's six month picture. She was sitting up by herself
Grayson and Olivia
Grayson and ElizabethI don't think we are ready to eat food in public yet!
They were sleeping so sweet I hated to wake them up for church last week.
Lizzie is still having such a time eating big girl food she just gave it up and went to sleep
Lizzie
Olivia
Grayson reading Good Night Moon to his baby before bedtime
This is his funny singing face
Grayson swimming at the softball party
Grayson's bedtimes are getting a little better, mainly because he has been exhausted every night. He still gets in our bed sometimes in the middle of the night, but at least we are making improvements.

wow~! the girls are getting so big! Thanks for the update! They are just beautiful and healthy...what more could you want?
Thanks for the calculations on diapers, food, ect. used in a months time. You are right "ignorance truly is bliss" sometimes. There is probably a reason you did not go ahead and calculate the money spent on those items a month :)
So cute!! The chair pictures are too cute :) Have a super week
