Here are my sickly little ducks! It makes me so sad to see them not feel well, but especially a few days before Christmas. This is one tradition that I had hoped we would not continue! Grayson and I both had fever and the stomach bug last Christmas and this year we have colds! Grayson is coughing constantly and has a runny nose. Olivia (who is always coughing) does not seem to have the cold yet, but it's only a matter of time. My poor Elizabeth had to go to the doctor today with wheezing and a fever. She has a double ear infection (no wonder she only wants to be held). So she is on breathing treatments every 4 hours during the day, steroids for the wheezing, and antibiotic for the ear aches. The doctor did make sure to tell me they will be there everyday except Christmas and their times, so I guess he thinks one of the other two will be in to see him soon :(
All that to be said Drew and I realized tonight that we do in fact have preemies and we need to go back to our old ways of when they first came home. The doctor said even though they do not look preemie they do have preemie lungs and problems for at least the first two years of their lives. So hand washing and sanitizer all day it is, Grayson has this down! And absolutely no contact with anyone who has smoked, been in a car that has been smoked in, or been around anyone who has smoked . This includes clothes and hair that has not been washed since exposed to smoke! I do not want to spend another two hours waiting in the doctors office for something that could maybe have been prevented. So please don't get upset with us when we ask you not to hold or come around our children, we just want them to stay healthy!
Her are my sickly ducks sitting in the bath tub breathing in their vapor bathAt least we can still get a smile
"You want me to sit here how long?"
Double breathing treatments take forever and especially when they are more than once a day. It apparently took everything out of the girls tonight because they both passed out during their treatment.
You can see Lizzie's rosy fever cheeks
Just say a little prayer that we all feel good and can enjoy our first Christmas as a family of 5!
