Elizabeth chilling in her new bed The first time Olivia has been held! I love how big her eyes are here!
Elizabeth snuggling with me
Elizabeth
I went to visit the girls this morning and the biggest change is I got to hold sweet OLIVIA! I have been waiting (what seems like forever) to hold her or even see her up close. Drew was able to hold Elizabeth first and I was able to hold Olivia first so now we are even, I guess. Olivia is doing better, she is no longer jaundice, she is getting more to eat each feeding (still in her feeding tube), she is now just on clear IV fluids and should come off of that maybe tomorrow. She is also only on room air (what we breath, no oxygen) and has come down to 21%. She is catching up to her sister faster then I thought! Also the attitude that all the nurses say she has, I think it was just jealously from not being held, so we will see!
Now for Elizabeth, she is no longer in the same little room as Olivia, she has been moved to a "Grower room" It is where she is on nothing, just being monitored and waiting to go home. She passed her eye test yesterday and her hearing test today. She is no longer jaundice (although oddly enough her levels are a little higher than Olivia). She did have a little spell on Monday, which just means her heart rate dropped a little and she forgot to breath, but she came back on her own, without any assistance. Because of her little spell she has to be monitored for 5 to 7 days before she can be released, but they wanted me to bring her car seat today and want us to go to the discharge class on Friday so that we will be ready!
After being able to see both girls up close now, I do believe they look a lot more alike then we first thought, so telling them apart may prove to be a little challenging.
Please pray that they keep doing as well as they are doing with now setbacks, pray especially for both of their brain scans tomorrow, and just pray for our patience because we want them to stay there as long as they need to so they won't have problems when we get home.
The pictures are taking awhile so I will get Drew to put some up tonight.
