It doesn't seem like it's already been a week since our sweet girls were born, but at the same time it seems like a month already. Drew took the day off and we both spent the day in Shreveport. He was able to hold Olivia for the first time and we were both able to give Olivia a bottle for the first time. Drew and I hardly saw each other because we were trying to split our time between both girls. As far as updates: Olivia did in fact have her IV removed, her jaundice level came up a little so she is back on the blanket, her oxygen is still in the low 20's and hopefully will start going down more. She passed her eye exam and she gained some weight. She is taking her bottles like she has done this many times before, we just pray she continues to do so well with them.
Elizabeth: Gained some weight, has not had a spell since Wed (keep our fingers crossed), her jaundice levels have gone down, but she is not being lazy with her feedings. She has done so good since the beginning with taking all her feeds, but now it is impossible to get her awake enough to even take half so pray that she will improve so that she won't have a feeding tube put in. Other than that she is just still on her "watch" to go home.
They both still have to have their brain sonos and that will probably happen on Thursday!
Oh I have to add that all the nurses said that Olivia had a big attitude, but since she has been able to be held and now fed, her personality has completely changed. I guess she was a little jealous of her big sister. Only time will tell if this is true.
Thanks for keeping up with us!
